Hybrid Work Model
At Assent, we proudly embrace a remote-first work model, valuing the flexibility and autonomy it provides our team. We also acknowledge the intangible benefits of occasional in-person workdays. For team members situated within 50 kms/31 miles of our five global offices in Ottawa, Eldoret, Penang, Columbus, and Amsterdam, you can expect to come into the office at least one day a week. Position Summary
The Regulatory and Sustainability Associate- Student Term works to support the goals of the Regulatory and Sustainability Experts Team at Assent. This role conducts research and works collaboratively with the team's subject matter experts to provide insights into market expectations and trends, supporting the continuous improvement of Assent's solutions. The role will provide the incumbent with practical experience while learning about the disciplines of Product Compliance and Responsible Sourcing regulations through a variety of prioritized projects.
Key Requirements & Responsibilities
Conducts comprehensive regulatory and market research, leveraging a variety of tools and resources, to support the initiatives and projects of Assent's Regulatory & Sustainability Experts team;
Develops insights based on regulatory trends and assesses them for business impact to Assent and its customers, consolidating and presenting information for internal stakeholders;
Supports Senior Regulatory and Sustainability Experts, as well as Assent's Product Management team, with project planning and delivery to support Assent's overall OKR goals;
Familiar with corporate security policies and follows the guidance set out by processes and procedures of Assent Inc.
Your Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Enrolled in a post-secondary program in Chemistry, Materials Science, Supply Chain Management, Sustainability, Engineering, Environmental Law, or similar relevant field;
Strong research and analytical and problem-solving skills;
Presentation skills with the ability to create content, distilling and capturing key points from large amounts of content, and adjusting messaging to adapt communication to varied audiences;
Superb collaboration skills - able to establish cross-functional relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders;
Motivated self-starter with ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and drive results. Ability to work independently, with work reviewed at critical points;
Effective time management and organizational skills, effectively aligning commitments to priorities;
Growth mindset, with innate curiosity and pragmatic optimism that supports ongoing learning and continuous improvement.
