The mandate of Complexes, Aqua & Specialized Services is to provide strategic vision and innovative leadership in managing customer centric sports, physical activity, aquatics and recreation venues, programs and services for all ages, including the management of facilities and/or land, and for the delivery of indoor and outdoor recreation programs and services. This Service provides city wide access to adapted, therapeutic and integrated recreation programs, giving children, youth and adults with special needs the opportunity to participate in community recreation.
Under the guidance of a Program Coordinator and Wading Pool Supervisor/Director, you are responsible for the daily operation of the wading pool program within the City's parks. You follow all guidelines, policies & procedures including all safety guidelines set by the branch. This includes ensuring the park is well maintained and safe for users, guarding of participants in the wading pool/area, light maintenance, monitoring water quality levels, delivering of age-appropriate activities and events, administrative duties, and responding to public inquiries. Work is performed in accordance with related legislation, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Note: minimum age of 15 years is required for this Summer Student job.
High School Student - Minimum Grade 10
Note: Student must be returning to school in the fall
No related experience is required - Some experience working with children (babysitting, after school programs, L.I.T. program, volunteer experience) is an asset
