The project has excellent potential to become a top-tier deposit that could support a large, long-life mine complex. Kinross' comprehensive exploration and development program will aim to support the vision of a quality, high-grade, open-pit mine and a longer-term, sizeable underground mine.

Job Summary

The Logistics and Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for expediting equipment and materials, receiving and checking equipment and materials, overseeing site inventory and providing procurement support to the Great Bear Project team. The incumbent will work closely with the team in Red Lake and the project team in the Toronto office to ensure that purchasing and materials receiving and storage meet the project requirements and follow project procedures.

The Logistics and Warehouse Coordinator will set up and implement project policies and procedures, and well as implement standard industry practices in all aspects of material management, inventory, purchasing and logistics.

This role is based in Red Lake, Ontario, and reports to the Procurement Manager, Great Bear Project.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsible for all tasks related to the receiving of equipment and materials at site and the Red Lake office.
  • Assist in the setting up of the Project Expediting Plan.
  • Create and maintain a system for materials inventory and develop associated procedures.
  • Participate in conducting cycle counts and physical inventories; assist in improving accuracy of counts.
  • Oversee logistics contractors to ensure and coordinate timely delivery of the equipment and materials on site.
  • Engage with equipment vendors to expedite their timely delivery of the equipment and materials on site.
  • Post-award management of the equipment vendors, including changes in the scope and issuing change orders.
  • Generate and maintain various reports to support projects as required.
  • Conduct their activities in accordance with the highest ethical standards and Kinross' policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of consultants, contractors, vendors and work closely with the Great Bear team to ensure orders are progressing as per the requirements (schedule, technical considerations, etc.).
  • Perform other duties of procurement and supply chain nature to support related activities as assigned by the Procurement Manager.
  • Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation, and commitment to satisfy our operation's goal of being accident-free.
  • Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

  • College Degree in Supply Chain, Business or Finance with 7+ years of relevant work experience in logistics, materials management and procurement. Preferably in larger capital projects in mining, oil & gas, or other asset intensive heavy industry. Formal training, professional designation, or certification in a related area is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and set priorities.
  • Able to manage time effectively across multiple tasks.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically working with Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
  • Experience in setting up systems, and related work in processes and procedures.
  • Possess Valid Class G driver's license.
  • Remains focused during challenging situations and functions well under pressure.
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Adapts well to constant change.
  • Displays a strong work ethic.

This position is a one (1) year fixed term contract, 5x2 schedule based in Red Lake, Ontario.
