The International Clerk provides essential support to international students and applicants, ensuring smooth communication between the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Lakehead International agents. This role is responsible for assisting with the graduate admissions process, managing inquiries, and maintaining organized records. Strong customer service, administrative, and organizational skills are essential to excel in this role.

Responsibilities


  • Provide timely and accurate customer service to international applicants.
  • Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and mail regarding international graduate admissions.
  • Assist with processing applications, including transcript verification and English language test scores.
  • Manage deferral requests and direct applicant inquiries to appropriate staff members.
  • Act as the primary contact for international agents and provide application status updates.
  • Organize meetings with international agents and generate reports on agent applications.
  • Maintain organized records of applicant materials and ensure accurate data entry.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Lakehead International and Accounts, to facilitate the admissions process.
  • Ensure compliance with university policies and regulations related to international admissions.

Qualifications


  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite, Colleague/Datatel, Adobe, and have the ability to adapt and learn new systems and software as required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail; - Ability to make sound decisions and adapt to situations;
  • Strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy office with frequent interruptions, changing priorities and short deadlines;
  • Ability to work within a culturally diverse environment;
  • Ability to work and handle all office duties in a confidential manner;
  • Ability to work and interact with others using tact and diplomacy;
  • Ability to represent the Office and the University in a friendly, courteous and professional manner
