Synopsis of the Role:

At Equifax, the Summer 2025 Business Data Analyst 15-week co-op program, is a gateway to full-time career paths for current university students who are currently pursuing their Bachelor's Degree. The program provides meaningful projects with direct impact on our business as well as exposure to senior leaders and opportunities to network.You will gain experience in understanding the hierarchical structure of Equifax's customer data and will assist in maintenance, sync and clean up of the customer data. The Business Data Analyst - Intern will have an opportunity to interact with members of the Data Governance, Database and internal portal teams to plan out the data maintenance and clean up activity, analyse and correct data and execute the roll out of the data on multiple systems and portals.

  • The 15 week co-op program runs from May 6th, 2025 to August 22nd, 2025.

  • Co ops are required to follow our hybrid onsite policy of Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - onsite for the duration of the 15 - week program.

  • Monday and Friday are remote work days.

  • Co ops must be local to the Toronto/ Montreal area and have the ability to commute to our office in Toronto / Montreal based on where the role is.

What will you do?

  • Understand and assess the existing hierarchical structure of the data and Equifax Ecosystem.

  • Analyze and evaluate data quality issues, clarifying issues and recommending corrective action

  • Work with the data governance team to present the findings and seek validation and approval on the data clean up activity.

  • Plan and execute the data clean up activity with cross-functional teams.

  • Provide reporting on the clean up project and report any issues for resolution.

What will you need?

  • Pursuing Master's degree in Quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Statistics

  • 1-2 years of experience in data and business analysis or experience in data clean up activities or database management.

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of data analysis methods and the ability to analyze and resolve complex data related issues (SQL, Google Big Query, Python, Advanced Excel functions etc.)

  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Looker

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

  • Able to work independently with general supervision/oversight to achieve short-term (weekly/monthly) performance expectations.

  • Adaptability and ability to deal with ambiguity.
