Salary: $43.22 - $54.02 per hour (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Status: Temporary Part-Time ( 1 year with a possibility of extension )
Closing Date: November 1, 2024

  • The Nurse in this Clinical Coordinator position would help address the particular deficits experienced by the Multidisciplinary Testis Cancer Clinic through patient navigation efforts
  • Testicular cancer patients are typically between the age of 15-35 and require a different level and type of much-needed survivorship support
  • Helping the young testis cancer patients navigate through the complexities of their diagnosis and treatment by following the patients closely after their primary treatment to monitor for relapse and/or adverse effects of treatment and helping with pre-op counseling and peri-chemo coaching.
  • As an integral member of the Nursing Team, the responsibilities of the CLINICAL COORDINATOR, include: utilizing and applying current specialized knowledge and expertise on recent advances in nursing practice to facilitate the effective management of clinical activities and the coordination of out-patient care and continuity in patient care management; performing patient care responsibilities; performing teaching/education responsibility; participating actively in Quality Improvement initiatives; participating in academic and research activities/projects; performing administrative responsibilities; performing cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized BScN (or equivalent) required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Up to three (3) years of relevant experience including experience working in an advanced clinical practice role
  • Certificate of competency (licensure) from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent decision-making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent teaching skills with the ability to teach one-on-one and/or groups
  • Ability to function collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and/or independently Ability to work in a self-directed manner
  • Demonstrated awareness of and adherence to professional and ethical standards
  • Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
  • Computer literacy
