Position Overview: Reporting to the Manager of Internal Communications, the Communications Coordinator is a dynamic and organized individual with a deep interest in supporting multi-channel employee-facing communication. You will play a crucial role in supporting channels that reflect UHN's strategic priorities, and enhance the employee experience, with the goal of helping employees across UHN be informed and celebrated. The role is hybrid with at least two days a week onsite at Toronto General Hospital. You will also frequently go to other UHN sites as needed.

Overview of Daily Responsibilities

  • Internal Stories Platform: Write and edit internal news posts, working directly with subject matter experts to 'pull' the most relevant content; track stakeholder engagement.
  • Calendars: Write and edit submissions to UHN's events and observances calendars engaging with subject matter experts to ensure listings are clear and compelling and reflective of UHN's strategic priorities.
  • Desktop Wallpaper: Maintain UHN's desktop wallpaper calendar, designing and editing images, and offering guidance to content owners, to ensure images they submit meet criteria.
  • SharePoint: Provide guidance to stakeholders from across UHN on the creation and maintenance of content for internal-facing SharePoint sites.
  • Project Coordination: Schedule meetings, take and distribute notes, track timelines and progress.
  • Shared Mailbox Management: Monitor, triage, respond to incoming messages, manage subscriptions.
  • Event Support: Assist in organizing, executing, and attending UHN special events.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with stakeholders across UHN, in a respectful and productive manner, in support of department initiatives and deliverables.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • A degree or diploma in a related field (Communications, Corporate Communications, Project Communications, Business Administration)
  • 2-3 years administrative support in a Communications, Marketing, HR, or Project Management department of a large organization
  • 2-3 years experience writing, editing, and proofreading corporate and/or marketing content
  • 2-3 years experience with employee-facing communication
  • Healthcare or public sector experience an asset
