The Director and Head, International Marketing provides strategic direction, leadership, and oversight for assigned regional and local marketing teams, in alignment with global Centres of Excellence (CoE) and regional Communities of Practice (CoP). Accountable for setting marketing strategy across intl. markets in coordination with Intl. Banking leadership. Responsible for leading planning, deployment, and measurement of marketing efforts to achieve acquisition and client engagement targets across assigned regional portfolio.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Adopt an integrated organizational approach to oversee regional marketing efforts and assigned in-country marketing teams, driving a results and client-focused culture that leverages broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge to drive growth across priority segments.
  • Be accountable for overseeing development of marketing strategy across intl. markets and upstream regional marketing planning in coordination with Intl. Banking leadership.
  • Be responsible for enabling priority segment growth targets across assigned regional portfolio, in alignment with Intl. Banking's growth strategy and in collaboration with Intl. Marketing's CoPs.
  • Lead deployment of an integrated marketing approach that scales capabilities, drives consistency, and creates efficiencies; as well as common frameworks to increase quality of work and enable flawless execution of marketing programs.
  • In collaboration with the Intl. Content & Design CoP, leads development and deployment of regional creative assets, agnostic of media channel and across all touchpoints, acting as regional point of contact for creative and media agencies.
  • Ensure proper usage of Scotiabank's brand guidelines in alignment with the global Brand Management CoE and collaborates with Global Brand and Client Insights to ensure execution of marketing efforts drive a relevant and differentiated brand.
  • Direct day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank's risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates the Bank's risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.
  • Create an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Build a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.

  • Experience in leading and building teams, adept in attracting and motivating talent
  • Expertise in driving brand efficacy and growth across multiple dimensions and KPIs
  • Expertise in leading strategy engagements.
  • Proven expert in managing and developing relationships with multiple partners and agencies
  • Authentic, decisive, resilient, highly collaborative, and results-oriented
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to influence functional stakeholders to set direction and align work efforts.
  • Strong understanding of the marketing discipline and full-funnel marketing efforts including role of programmatic media, SEO and SEM in driving short-term and long-term growth.
  • +10 years progressive marketing experience on international brands
  • Bilingual, English and Spanish, is a strong asset.
  • Exposure to agile marketing methodologies is an asset.
