The Equity Markets Internship will provide the student with exposure to core TMX business units, providing trading and technical support for TMX trading and market data product delivery to the TMX customer base. The Intern will be involved in enhancing a number of manual and resource intensive processes with client-facing services that use technology to streamline and digitize workflows. The specific focus areas will directly impact the digitization of the client experience across the Equity Markets team and enhance the team's operation efficiency.

Key Accountabilities:

• Engage clients and Market Data Vendors to discuss and collect feedback on proposed digital workflow enhancements.

• Build relationships with clients, Market Data Vendors, Trading Participants and other TMX business units on topics such as digital platforms and web portals.

• Collaborate with other TMX support teams to implement and streamline process improvements and execute tactical operations initiatives.

• Documentation of current business processes and procedures.

• Collaborate with the team to support system integration and business process improvement projects as defined by the management team.

• Identify gaps in information flow and assist in redesigning processes by applying technology and automation.

• Gather market intelligence and engage product management with new development ideas

• Prepare communications, document new product summaries, and support enhancements to the client portal.

• Assist equities trading and market data professionals in providing first-class customer support and troubleshooting client issues.

Must haves:

• Enrolled in a post-secondary institution with a preferred focus on Computer Science, Finance, Business

• Passion for leveraging and interpreting data to drive significant business impact

• Critical thinking skills to recognize patterns and anomalies in data and arrive at new conclusions based on findings

• Attention to detail and ability to multitask and prioritize projects with conflicting deadlines.

• Demonstrated passion for capital markets

• A team player with the ability and desire to collaborate effectively with stakeholders

• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work with limited supervision

• Good troubleshooting skills

• Experience with Excel, including pivot tables and vlookups

Nice to haves:

• Canadian Securities Course

• Web UX/UI design best practices

• Experience with Tableau, Salesforce

• Working knowledge of the Equity Trading and Market Data industry

• Comfortable with web base service providers such as Workday

• Experience working in a data-driven digital sales & marketing environment

Note:

• Hybrid role: 2 -3 days per week in the downtown Toronto office

• 4 month Co-op / Internship: May 05, 2025 - August 22, 2025
