Hours: 37.5 per week
Salary: $36.90 to $46.13 per hour (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Status: Temporary Full-Time, 12 Months
Closing Date: January 11, 2025

Position Summary

The HIS Integration Developer Associate reports into the Senior Integration Manager. The HIS Integration Developer Associate designs, develops, tests, and maintenance of HL7 interfaces within the Epic ecosystem.

Duties

  • HIS Integration Associate will work closely with the Senior Integration Manager, Project Management, Application teams, and Technical teams to ensure that integration engineering solutions meet the needs of the UHN end users.

Qualifications

  • Entry-level knowledge of HL7 standards (e.g., HL7 v2.x, HL7 v3, FHIR), message types, segments, and protocols.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Completion of assigned vendor training and certification achievement in vendor application may be required.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as Java.
  • Experience with OS language (Unix, and/or Linux, and/or Windows).
  • Experience with FTP and SFTP.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and the ability to architect innovative solutions to complex interface challenges.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences and influence decision-making.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to understand organizational requirements.
  • Ability to quickly identify technical risks or issues and escalate to management in order to mitigate impacts to project timeline or budget.
  • Able to learn in a self-directed, fast paced, rapidly-changing environment.
  • Ability to effectively work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
