Role Summary:

The Service Technician is responsible for contributing to best-in-class customer experience by performing general building maintenance and repairs, for all in-suite and common areas, as assigned by the Service Coordinator and managers.

Reporting to the Property Manager, the Service Technician will contribute and participate in activities related to preventative and unscheduled maintenance, as well as environmental, health and safety, and other special initiatives by performing the following duties, with a goal of providing exceptional resident satisfaction through the delivery of great service to all residents at all times.

In this role, you will:

  • Perform required and preventive building maintenance work on the property, equipment, and systems, and recording them using Yardi Voyager Mobile Maintenance.
  • Ensuring resident satisfaction, safety, and quality standards, and addressing any issues or deficiencies promptly.
  • Coordinating and supervising trades work and contractors when needed, and following the Minto Contractor Code of Conduct.
  • Monitoring and controlling maintenance expenses, supplies, and inventories, and reporting on mechanical equipment and maintenance trends.
  • Complying with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, especially regarding health and safety, fire and life safety, and building access and security.
  • Participating in industry associations, educational workshops, and personal networks to maintain professional and technical knowledge and skills.
  • Participate in a required rotational on-call.
  • Upholding Minto's mission, vision, and values, and providing excellent customer service to residents, co-workers, vendors, and the public.
  • Other related duties as requested by management.

We would like you to have:

  • A trade certificate or college diploma in a related field or equivalent experience is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience.
  • Drivers License and access to a vehicle are a requirement
  • Ability to assess quality workmanship
  • Must be able to lift at least 25 kilograms
  • Microsoft Office
  • Basic computer skills, Yardi experience an asset
  • Communication skills (listening, verbal and written)
  • Problem Solving skills
  • Good Judgment
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Shows Initiative and demonstrates sense of ownership
