Materials Coordinator - GIM and Labour & Delivery (Job ID: 9675)
The primary responsibility of the Materials Coordinator is to coordinate and expedite flow of materials according to requirements as well as maintain and track general supplies and specialty equipment for General Internal Medicine and The Family Birthing Centre while ensuring safe functioning.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs accountabilities to ensure areas of responsibility are appropriately clean/stocked, etc., to meet the demands of service level
- Checks each room to identify patient on bed, type of bed patient is on and if patient is occupying the appropriate bed
- Performs inventory control for required equipment
- Performs preventative maintenance responsibilities
- Keeps track of equipment and supplies that are in biomedical and engineering for repairs, in order to track the length of time it takes to be fixed and to follow up on repairs;
- Performs administrative responsibilities
- Analyzes past year's purchases and plans purchase orders for the following months;
- Communicates with Managers, internal/external vendors and staff through email; sends emails to all staff on new equipment/supplies that have come in, specifying where to find them;
- Acts as a contact/resource person for new equipment and non medical products
- Orders supplies and equipment.
- Performs cross functional and other duties as assigned and/or requested.
Qualifications:
- Completion of high school required;
- Basic Microsoft Office computer skills an asset;
- Knowledge of specialty equipment, supplies and materials specific to the program and critical care areapreferred;
- Excellent problem recognition and creative problem solving skills;
- Ability to efficiently and effectively prioritize workload to meet unit needs;
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision;
- Goal driven;
- Demonstrated ability to effectively handle stress in a professional and effective manner;
- Demonstrated conflict management skills;
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills;
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service;
- Good people skills, with the ability to work closely with patients and patients family members.
This contract is until November 2025.
