About PheedLoop

PheedLoop is dedicated to developing critical systems for the events industry. From virtual event technology critical during these times and solutions to automate, simplify and monetize events, to new hardware products such as self-check-in systems and smart badges, we're always building awesome tech. Located in Toronto, PheedLoop is one of Canada's fastest-growing event technology companies.

We're obsessed with listening to customer feedback, because we're able to build extremely creative solutions at light speed as soon as we hear good ideas. We love working hard, learning new things, building great products, and closing deals. If you're looking for an experience that will test your limits, accelerate your career, and allow you to dream big, we'd love to work with you and change an industry forever.

About the Role
As an On-Site Events Specialist & Technician, you'll be the face of PheedLoop at on-site events across North America, ensuring our clients' experiences with our technology and hardware are flawless from start to finish. You'll travel regularly to conferences, trade shows, and corporate events, where you'll be responsible for setting up and managing our on-site technology (think printers, iPads, and check-in kiosks) and providing hands-on support during live events.

You'll be our customer's go-to person on the ground, helping them troubleshoot technical issues, answering questions about the PheedLoop platform and escalating back to HQ if/when necessary, and making sure everything runs like clockwork. The role is hands-on, fast-paced, and requires someone who can handle high-pressure situations with grace and professionalism.

Your day to day

  • Travel to events across North America, setting up and managing on-site equipment such as printers, tablets, and self-check-in kiosks.
  • Provide technical support to clients during events, ensuring the seamless operation of our integrated event platform (including Event Apps, Lead Retrieval, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve on-the-spot technical issues to keep events running smoothly.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for event organizers, answering any questions they have about our software and hardware in real time.
  • Ensure the setup and break-down of equipment runs efficiently and on time, especially under tight event schedules.
  • Work closely with the logistics team for training and escalation while on-site

Things you should know and have to succeed

  • Experience: Ideally, 6 months-1 year+ in a customer service, tech support, or logistics related role. Experience with technology or events is a plus!
  • Strong communication skills: You must be able to communicate clearly, both in writing and face-to-face, with clients and colleagues under pressure.
  • Adaptability: The ability to stay calm, solve problems quickly, and think on your feet in high-pressure situations.
  • Work ethic: A strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid passport: Since this is a travel-heavy role, a valid passport and the ability to travel freely across North America are a must.
  • Tech-savviness: A general understanding of technology and the ability to learn and adapt to new systems quickly. You don't need to be a developer, but you should be comfortable with devices like printers, iPads, and event tech.

Things that would make you an all-star

  • Experience in the events industry managing conferences, trade shows, or similar events
  • Experience selling software products
  • Experience working in small business environments
  • Bilingual proficiency (English and French)

Who we're looking for

We are looking for people to join our team who are ambitious, hard workers, thrive in environments where they are required to solve problems, and love to have fun. We want to work with people who feel they have a lot more potential within themselves to unlock because we want to be a part of their journey and help them reach their goals. Your work, just like everyone else's at PheedLoop, will make a massive difference - we can guarantee it. Know that you are likely to find your teammates at PheedLoop to be the hardest working group of people you'll ever meet. If you feel you have a strong work ethic and career ambitions, you will thrive here!

This is a part-time, contract based role. Candidates must be available for Q1-Q2 2025.
