Position Summary:
Our lab is currently conducting a study to test the feasibility of a novel stepped care intervention for the assessment and management of cognitive symptoms among people with brain metastases. The post-doctoral fellow will lead the delivery of the main components of this intervention, including cognitive symptom screening in the brain metastases clinic, performing computerized and standard neuropsychological assessment, provide feedback to patients and families, and delivery of psychoeducational materials and cognitive rehabilitation strategies. Activities will also include data analysis, manuscript preparation and dissemination activities. This one-year, full-time position begins on September 2, 2025.
The fellow will have the opportunity to receive clinical supervision in accordance with the requirements for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Clinical training consists of neuropsychological assessment and consultation in the Fitzhenry Brain Metastases Program and the Pencer Brain Tumor Centre, multidisciplinary clinics that provide care for adults with brain tumors. There will be opportunities to see a wider age range and array of patients/presenting problems during the registration period from other neurological and neurosurgical programs within UHN. Primary clinical supervision will be provided by the Pencer Centre neuropsychologist. The fellow will be expected to participate in additional clinical, didactic, and academic training opportunities, including the UHN Neuropsychology Clinic rounds and group supervision meetings, and other multidisciplinary rounds and meetings at the Princess Margaret.
Duties
Applicants should be eligible for registration by the College of Psychologists of Ontario and have completed all requirements for a PhD in Psychology. Training must have included an emphasis on cognitive neuroscience/neuropsychology research and clinical neuropsychology practica and internship. This position is open to trainees with a background in pediatric or adult neuropsychology. Applicants with appropriate neuropsychology training who have not yet defended their dissertations may also be considered within a different job classification and are encouraged to apply.
