Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: $56,882 - $71,097 annually (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Shifts: Monday to Friday
Status: Temporary Full-time (1 year, renewal contingent on funding and performance)

Position Summary
As an essential member of the Uro-Oncology research team at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, the Project Coordinator I will organize and track the progress of a research project focusing on health equity and aimed at understanding the genetic predisposition of prostate cancer. The role will include collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, community partners such as The Walnut Foundation, and health experts. Principal responsibilities include tracking project milestones, contacting patients, coordinating study activities, and assisting in the development of reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Duties:

  • Assist in monitoring and tracking projects progress including documentation, preparing meeting minutes, and coordinating with scientific associate, PIs and research manager.
  • Understand and document research objectives, ensuring that timelines and deliverables are met including maintenance of project management tools (e.g., charters, schedules).
  • Assist our community partner, The Walnut Foundation with project related tasks, organizing events, and other assigned activities.
  • Coordinate research activities, including data collection, patient contact, specimen tracking, and community outreach.
  • Monitor the progress and quality of work associated with project outcomes for the purpose of managing project timelines and deliverables.
  • Perform administrative and reporting duties including preparing progress reports for internal and external stakeholders, including grant funders.
  • Perform cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested.

    Qualifications

    • At minimum, completion of a 3 year community college program in Project Manager, Business Administration or recognized equivalent required.
    • Bachelors degree in Health Sciences, Social Science, Public Health, or recognized relevant field, preferred.
    • At minimum over 2 years up to and including 3 years practical and related experience and/or 1 year on-the-job training required.
    • Demonstrated success in project coordination experience, much of this preferably in a health science or public health setting.
    • Project Management course or PMP certificate, preferred.
    • Knowledge of health equity research and public health including community health initiatives is an asset.
    • Experience working in hospital or public sector.
    • Ability to communicate openly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
    • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
