The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre has 12 site groups and 26 specialty clinics, and almost 3,000 staff who see over 400,000 patient visits every year. Our team on the Hans Messner Allogeneic Blood & Marrow Transplant Units (14B and 14C) provide care to patients who require a stem cell transplant from a related, haploidentical or unrelated donor. The Messner Allogenic Blood & Marrow Transplant (BMT) program, established in 1976, is one of the largest stem cell transplant facilities in North America and ranks amongst the top in the world. The Messner Allogenic Blood & Marrow Transplant service has international recognition for some of the longest surviving patients and for being the first to perform allogenic stem cell transplants as well as transplants with unrelated donors in Canada.
As a member of the UHN and the Nursing and Interdisciplinary Teams, the REGISTERED NURSE practices in accordance with relevant legislation/standards, meeting the legal and ethical requirements of the profession.
