Job Description

Department: Cancer Education
Reports to: Manager, Research Program Development
Work Model: Hybrid
Grade: N0:03
Hours: 7.5 hours per week
Salary: $26.76 - $33.45 per hour (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Shifts: Monday to Friday
Status: Casual (2 days/week)
Closing Date: December 31, 2024

Position Summary
Working under the direction of the Manager, Research Program Development, the Research Analyst 1 will provide research support to the Cancer Education Department and must first and foremost be an excellent writer.

Duties

  • Planning and implementing resource development projects
  • Drafting abstracts and manuscripts
  • Conducting literature reviews and needs assessments
  • Assisting in writing research proposals
  • Drafting program reports
  • Conducting statistical analysis (using Excel)
  • Coordinating projects
  • Performing cross-functional duties as assigned or requested and performing other duties consistent with the job classification as required

Qualifications

  • At minimum, completion of a bachelor's degree program, or recognized equivalent in a Health or Science-Related Discipline, required
  • At Minimum, 1-year related experience in a health-related field or equivalent combination of education/experience related to health promotion, health policy, health education or communication, required
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record systems, patient scheduling systems/software is required.
  • Familiarity with theories of health behaviour, health literacy and plain language
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and pay careful attention to detail
  • Excellent judgement
  • Ability to use tact and discretion
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks
  • Experience with Radiology Information Systems is preferred.
  • Certification as a Clinical Research Professional an asset
