The Senior Manager, Futures, Project & Change Management supports Holt Renfrew to efficiently delivery its Future agenda and help prepare the organization to adopt future-focused change.

Providing project management services for Futures led strategic initiatives, specializing in the execution of the Retail Store strategic initiatives and capital investments. The role combines the highest level of collaboration, working alongside cross-functional stakeholders. Through change management, the role facilitates the adoption of strategic initiatives across the organization.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Lead the cross-functional project management for all Retail Store renovation and revitalization projects. Includes:
  • Manage projects from ideation to implementation through post-project performance tracking while applying project management methodologies, standards and practices
  • Create all project work plans, project charters, critical paths, and schedules for all Retail Store capital projects impacting store, store support and distribution centres
  • Drive accountability and progress of business teams to ensure key deliverables are completed on time, on budget, and within scope
  • Lead project and coordination meetings with applicable business teams
  • Prepare all project reporting on progress, budget forecast, risks, and results to the organization and Executive stakeholders
  • Provide onsite leadership support during implementation
  • Ensure seamless operational integration with existing and/or new store processes
  • Complete post-project evaluation and analysis to improve future project delivery

  • Provide project management guidance, leadership and counsel for Futures led strategic initiatives, including:
  • Onboarding and training of Futures team Project Managers as required
  • Lead cross-functional project management for Futures led strategic initiatives, as required

  • Support cross-functional strategic growth initiatives and associated organizational change. Includes:
  • Liaise and coordinate with key stakeholders to create and execute applicable training prior to roll-outs and re-training as needed
  • Manage the development and execution of communication strategies to support future growth projects in partnership with applicable StakeholdersPost-project tracking and reporting of project results and key performance indicators
  • Understands and stays current with Retail, Product, Marketing, and Strategic Functions departmental needs to effectively develop and direct the implementation of project plans
  • Provide insight on project management best practices to generate execution from cross-functional team to deliver project goals
  • Work under the direction of DVP, Futures, Project and Change on ad hoc requests
  • Continually improve process methods and best practices to support business objectives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners
  • Lead, motivate, and retain a team of high performing employees capable of delivering results (note, this team may grow and contract as required based on organizational needs)

The ideal candidate:

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience (i.e. Project Management, Change Management, Commerce, Economics, etc.)
  • PMP designation an asset
  • Strong project management skills, including demonstrated ability to think end-to-end and manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously
  • 7-10 years of post-university project management work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in retail operations
  • 5+ years in a supervisory or management role within a retail store business
  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills with the ability to get things done
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team player with ability to also work independently effectively
  • Confident and effective communication (written & verbal)
  • Is adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change
  • Highly service-oriented with exceptional organizational and follow up skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and work effectively in a team based consensus driven environment
