Senior Data Architect
We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of large databases on the Azure platform. As a Data Modeler, you will be responsible for creating and optimizing data models, ensuring data integrity, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making processes. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in data modeling, database design, and hands-on experience with Azure services.
How you'll make an impact
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop data models for large-scale databases on the Azure platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and data integrity.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including data architects, developers, and business analysts, to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data models.
- Optimize database structures and schemas to improve query performance and data retrieval efficiency.
- Implement best practices for data modeling, including normalization, denormalization, indexing, and partitioning strategies.
- Conduct data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues and propose solutions for data cleansing and enrichment.
- Work closely with the development team to ensure seamless integration of data models into application systems.
- Perform data modeling reviews and provide guidance to ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in data modeling techniques, tools, and technologies.
- Collaborate with database administrators to monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning and indexing strategies.
- Document data models, data dictionaries, and related artifacts to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain data lineage.
About you
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience (X years) as a Data Modeler or Database Designer, working with large databases on the Azure platform.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling concepts, techniques, and best practices.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems (DBMS) such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, or Azure Cosmos DB.
- Hands-on experience with Azure services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Databricks.
- Familiarity with data integration and ETL processes, including data ingestion, transformation, and loading.
- Experience with data profiling and data quality assessment tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data requirements and translate them into effective data models.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Azure certifications in data-related domains (e.g., Azure Data Engineer, Azure Database Administrator) are a plus.
