Your Opportunity
Stantec Consulting Ltd., is accepting applications for the prospective opportunity of Construction Contract Administrator for MTO assignments.
Your Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Project Manager of Transportation, the Contract Administrator is responsible for the following:
Supervision/Inspection of Contractor operations for a variety of disciplines on site, including MUTCD Book 7 requirements, grade, drainage, granulars, environmental controls, structures, asphalt and electrical, and supervise Senior/Junior Inspectors on site.
Read and apply all contract drawings, tender documents and applicable Ontario Provincial Standards (OPS), Standard Drawings and MTO SP’s to the construction Contract.
Experience with Ministry of Transportation road/bridge construction projects is a requirement.
Monitor/advise on the progress of construction projects operations and Contractor’s critical path scheduled Work.
Review, calculate and monitor progress payments for change orders.
Liaise between clients, contractors and municipal officials on-site.
Experience with MTO’s new Contract Management System (CMS) project delivery platform.
Experience in claims negotiations, dispute resolutions with Contractor on complex projects is required.
Provide all Health and Safety concerns comments in the Daily CA Diary as well as notifying the contractor and client immediately.
Provide contract “As Recorded” information, to be delivered to the client at the conclusion of each project.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Excellent written, verbal communication, analytical and organizational skills;
A working knowledge of design standards, road and bridge construction with particular emphasis on contractor operations, documentation control and applying specifications to contract drawings;
Working knowledge of the Ontario Provincial Standards;
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software is essential.
Valid drivers license and personal vehicle.
Education and Experience
Graduate of a Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Engineering Technology program;
Minimum of 10 years experience in a Contract Administrator position on MTO Assignments in a road/bridge construction environment; requirement to have a current T-131A Advanced Claims Dispute Resolution training;
Require a current RCCA designation with OACETT;
