The Bilingual Training Coordinator in this 1 year contract position will be part of the national IT Training team in which they will work with lawyers and professionals in all of our offices across Canada, where English is the predominant language. An employee in this position will be expected to work on learning materials in English or French for lawyers or professionals who understand and communicate only in English or French. This national IT Training team operates to upskill the members of the firm in the area of the firm’s operational technology and it is necessary for the proper functioning of the operations to have bilingual staff available to respond to the requests of the Firm. Bilingualism (French and English) is therefore a requirement for this position.


Reporting to the Manager of IT Training, this position is preferably based in Montreal, but can be based in any of McCarthy Tétrault’s Canadian offices. McCarthy Tétrault employees benefit from a hybrid work environment.

As a Bilingual Training Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the following responsibilities

  • Performing administrative tasks associated with training, such as managing scheduling, sending invites, addressing scheduling inquiries.
  • Translating English materials created created by the IT Training team to French.
  • Contributing to the creation and maintenance of existing French training materials by providing screenshots and screencasts
  • Reviewing content translated by other team members to ensure accuracy within the context of our systems
  • Reaching out to French speaking end users post training to relay answers to queries that needs follow-ups, and ensuring all questions are successfully answered.
  • Supporting with other bilingual trainers to deliver new hire training in French in the long term.

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • 1-3 years of facilitation or training coordination experience, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Excellent written and oral French language skills, with functional English language skills for team and departmental communication.
  • A proactive approach to task management and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite and legal tech and terminology considered an asset
  • A strong customer service mindset
  • Comfortable working with individuals across multiple levels of seniority
  • Ability to keep up-to-date with changes in technology and latest information
