Canadian National Railway Company (CN) is looking for a highly motivated person to fulfill a full-time (40h/week) Intern, Business Analyst position in Montreal, QC from May - Aug 2025.
Job Summary
The Intern, Business Analysis is responsible for identifying, eliciting, and analyzing users' business needs throughout CN and for specific projects and initiatives. The incumbent acts as a liaison between the Information and Technology (I&T) groups (e.g., Architecture, Design, Delivery, Quality Assurance, Project Management) and the business and translates needs into detailed stakeholder requirements and user stories. The role is performed within the Product and Delivery management team of the corporate solutions vertical. The team is quite broad, composed of a Project Manager, Architects, Designers, Product Managers and Business Analysts (BA). The position is accountable for translating business needs into functional requirements of technology solutions and products. Furthermore, the role drafts, plans, and maintains product roadmaps outlining the technology capabilities being delivered across multiple delivery release. The incumbent is exposed to different delivery methodologies, working with the business, and providing solutions in a team environment.
Major Responsibilities
· Gather and manage business needs
· Plan business analysis activities for projects and initiatives
· Analyze project requirement relationships (e.g., affinity diagrams, fishbone, feasibility analysis)
· Prioritize and maintain traceability of requirement changes
· Organize and facilitate workshops, interviews and meetings while being mindful of organizational change impacts
· Create and validate current and future processes with business partners
· Elicit and document business requirements from internal and external partners (e.g., Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTMs), user stories, user cases)
· Analyze, synthesize, document, explain, and communicate business information to technical teams
· Understand solution gaps and communicate business impacts
· Support the business in program increment, product backlog prioritization, and testing activities
· Review and create product roadmaps
· Apply and ensure compliance with all CN I&T standards throughout projects
Requirements

Education
