Canadian National Railway Company (CN) is looking for a highly motivated person to fulfill a full-time (40h/week) Intern, Solution Architecture position in Montreal, QC from May - Aug 2025.
Job Summary
The Intern, Solution Architecture (SA) is responsible for supporting the SA team on various initiatives. The role is an opportunity to become familiar with the inner workings of the Architecture groups and I&T as a whole, along with exposure to multiple business areas. The incumbent participates in assignments with Solution Architects and attends workshops of various types to see how a request is shaped into a target approach and architecture. Assisting in organizing and improving collaboration is another key factor of the role, as well as helping to organize information and structure it in a way to be reusable for future initiatives. The SA team shapes all new I&T initiatives and determines how to implement them. Furthermore, the SA team works with I&T and business resources, evaluates market offerings, existing solutions and customs build options to provide an architecture that supports the business needs.
Major Responsibilities
· Work with the SA team to understand business needs and perform market research to find the best solutions
· Support Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) processes for vendor and software selection
· Support collaboration opportunities in Yammer, Confluence and SharePoint
· Assist in migration of architecture artifacts and information into a centralized site
Requirements
· Ability to do product research and consolidate into recommendations
· Detail oriented to manage requirements lists and organize work sessions
· Experience with various collaboration tools and processes
· Keen and curious learner
· Ability to work independently
Education
· Working towards a Degree in Computer Sciences, Business Administration, or equivalent
