Quality Control & Lab Manager - Montreal - 18 months contract

Position Purpose


The primary responsibility of the Quality Control & Lab Manager is to find opportunities for quality and/or productivity improvements. This position is a point of contact between quality, production and engineering.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead off-tolerance products and analyze fundamental causes.
  • Monitor and analyze production and laboratory data to identify trends.
  • Run quality improvement projects.
  • Develop and provide employee training.
  • Ensure sensors and measuring instruments are calibrated and adjusted correctly.
  • Monitor new products and components in production.
  • Produce monthly reports.
  • Optimize and standardize machine settings and adjustments.
  • Reduce spoilage.
  • Act as the official backup for the QC Supervisor.
  • Keep specifications up to date in the quality management system.
  • Recommend necessary specification changes to R&D.

Required qualifications

  • College or university degree.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards (an asset).
  • Knowledge of SAP (an asset).

Skills, competencies and languages

  • Strong analysis and synthesis skills.
  • Highly organized.
  • Comfortable learning and mastering new software tools.
  • Great teammate with a sense of initiative.
  • Excellent command of French and English, both written and spoken.
