About the role

Participate in a structured cooperative educational/work program between Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. (Lockheed Martin) and a college/university student enrolled in an accredited degree program directly related to skills required by the company. Perform assigned tasks in technical/engineering disciplines e.g., Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering in the Systems Engineering (SE) field related to the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) Project. Specifically, the Lead Systems Engineering (LSE) Cross Product Team (CPT) involved in general coordination and engineering process management.

The candidate will participate in engineering activities including but not limited to:

  • Requirements development
  • Requirements change management
  • Requirements deviation and waiver management
  • Requirements Engineering – Best practices
  • Requirement compliance and risk assessment
  • Requirement design Objective Evidence (OE) identification
  • Planning and managing team tasks in JIRA
  • Managing team information in Confluence.

What you bring to the role

  • Current student in an Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) program
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio
  • Aptitude for working well in teams
  • Ability to work independently
  • Results-oriented self-starter attitude.

Additional skills desired for the role

  • Eight (8) month availability starting in January 2025
  • IBM Doors experience
  • Active North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secret Security Clearance
  • Agile process experience
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
