The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is seeking a full-time rural locum family physician to provide services to various sites across the Southeast (SE) part of the province. This position will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to travel to different communities in the SE to assist and sustain rural communities experiencing short and long-term physician disruptions. The successful candidate will provide a full scope of services including but not limited to clinic, emergency room, on-call, LTC, inpatient, rounding, etc.
The full-time contract position is based on 160 days of service per contract year with a daily rate from $1,560 - $1,716 (4-step grid dependent on experience). Effective April 1, 2025 the daily rates will increase to $1,593 - $1,752. Travel time will be paid at a rate of $20/hour and mileage at a rate of $0.51/km per 1 round trip for each locum assignment. Accommodations are provided when the locum is away from home.
The successful candidate is eligible for an initial signing bonus of $11,000 and an end bonus of $10,000 upon signing a 12-month full-time (160 days) rural locum contract.
While working as a rural locum, physicians can enter into other contractual agreements provided they do not interfere or conflict with the provision of physician services in accordance with the rural locum agreement
