The Lac La Ronge Indian Band's Education Department is now accepting applications for the 2024-2025 academic year, to fill the following Full-Time Term position based out of Bell's Point Elementary School (BPES) in La Ronge, SK:
Community & School Recreation Coordinator
The suitable candidates will be able to perform the following duties:
• Facilitate the delivery of a variety of community-based sports, culture, and recreation programs after school, evenings and weekends
• Work with students, their families and community members
• Recruit, coordinate, and recognize volunteers
• Gather input towards the creation of an annual program plan, record, and report participant data
• Establish and maintain community partnership
The suitable candidates will possess the following qualifications:
• Grade 12 diploma required;
• A diploma in Recreational and/or a related field preferred;
• 1-2 years direct or related experience in Sports, Recreation, and Culture preferred
• Ability to work in collaboration with community partners and stake holders
• Organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Sensitivity to the north and its diverse culture
• Ability to speak Cree is a definite asset
• Must be able to provide a satisfactory criminal record check, vulnerable sector check, and driver's abstract
