Reporting to the unit Clinical Care Managers (CCMs) or Director of Patient Care, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the patient care areas. The Clinical Nurse Leader provides supervision to Patient Experience Division staff, manages of departmental resources, patient flow and transitions of care, and recommends and implements continuous process improvements while seeking to reduce costs and improve efficiency and quality. Working in collaboration with the Clinical Care management team, the incumbent oversees quality control and incident reporting, supports development and implementation of policies, procedures, and protocols, and coordinates and facilitates workplace solutions while consulting all appropriate stakeholders.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
The successful applicant will have a Degree or Diploma in Nursing, current registration with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association and hold current CPR-Automated Extended Defibrillator (AED) Healthcare Provider certification. Five to ten years clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting at a senior supervisory level and a Master's degree preferably in Nursing or Leadership. Post Graduate Certification in Critical Care, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Maternity, Emergency Room or Operating Room, if hired as Clinical Nurse Leader within specialized areas. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
