Job Summary and Requirements

This is a full-time term position, working 75 hours biweekly until June 30, 2026.

The Market Development Manager, Europe/UK manages the development, implementation and evaluation of tourism marketing programs delivered in key target markets in Europe and the United Kingdom (UK). The Market Manager develops and implements consumer, travel trade and media relations strategies for international target markets in the UK, including air access, in consultation with industry, Destination Canada and other strategic partners and stakeholders. The Market Development Manager, Europe/UK works closely with Yukon tourism operators and suppliers in the areas of business development, marketing, and product development.

Essential Qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the following qualifications.   • Post-secondary degree in Tourism, Marketing, or a related discipline and / or significant experience;
  • Significant experience managing and leading in-market agencies / representatives;
  • Significant experience working with multiple partners and stakeholders in the public, private and NGO sectors;
  • Significant experience with financial management and procurement, preferably in a government setting;
  • Significant experience working in a destination marketing / management organization promoting tourism in Canada's international tourism markets is considered an asset.

  • Excellent leadership, communication and team work skills;
  • Strong negotiation, and business skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach and ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders;
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong understanding of tourism marketing techniques, theories, and procedures from an economic development perspective, and an understanding of Yukon's tourism potential in international markets;
  • An understanding of Yukon's tourism potential in international markets;
  • Ability to develop relationships and work collaboratively with multiple clients and stakeholders, including tourism industry contacts in Yukon, Canada and European markets.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Valid Yukon Class 5 driver's licence;
  • Valid passport with the unrestricted ability to travel internationally.

Job Requirements:

  • Travel is required within and outside the Yukon, including international travel.

Relocation expenses will not be considered for this position.
